Training on Basic Criminal Investigatioin at Koh Kong

From 21 to 25 May 2007, the Legal Awareness Program of the Cambodian Defenders Project will organize a training course on Basic Criminal Investigation at Koh Kong. About 40 police officers and human rights acitivists will participate this course.

Training on Law and Commune Council

From 28 to 29 April 2007, the SACKS association located at Svay Phaem Village in Svay Rieng invited Mr. Sok Sam Oeun, Director of CDP, to give lectures on law and commune council for fourty of its activists. Mr. Sok briefed them about what democracy means, the decentralization, roles of the commune chief and commune council and basic concepts of family law, domestic violence, and land law.

Training on Law in Everyday Life at Kampot

On 24 April 2007, The Cambodian Defenders Project open a training course at Kampot. The Deputyr Governor, Director of Educaiton Department of Kampot Province and Mr. SOK Sam Oeun, Excutive Director of CDP presided the opening session at that morning. It will be from 24 to 28 April 2007. Fourty professors and students of High Schools in Kampot are attending this training course.

What is Legal Awarenss Program (LAP)

 The Legal Awareness Program (LAP) is one of the programs of the Cambodian Defenders Project. It promotes general legal awareness through providing training to lay people, legal professionals, students and staff of other organizations, comments to the media and by producing written and electronic materials.

The Legal Awareness Program organizes many training courses such as:

-Basic Criminal Investigation Skills

-Law in Everyday Life (General for lay people, specific for military, teachers, and youth)

-Advanced Criminal Investigation Skills and

-Trial Techniques.
